Meet Santa

Jim has been performing Santa for 52 years. He has been to Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Calgary as well as performing in his hometown of Regina, Saskatchewan. He started in 1972 because his father in law did not want to do it anymore. He started doing private parties for friends and relatives. He then branched out into private corporate parties. Then moved into performing on stage at casinos.

Then in 2006 he was contacted by a local charity to perform at a mall in Regina. He told the charity that if they were expecting to hire a Santa that would just sit in the chair and talk to kids as they approached him that they were asking the wrong person. His philosophy is Santa will make everyone happy. He will greet young and old as they come into the mall with a hearty "Merry Christmas".

For fifty years Jim has been putting smiles on the faces of everyone he meets. In 2008 CBC taped a documentary on Jim entitled "Preparation of a Santa". They came in and did an interview for approximately 45 minutes and then followed him to the mall to tape another 1 hour. They were very impressed with his Santa house. His Christmas tree is decorated with all Santa Clauses from around the world. A portrait of Santa hangs on the wall with the pictures of small children in his beard with all different expressions of happiness and surprise. They told him that he was probably the longest performing Santa in North America.

Many people have come up to Jim after a performance and told him that he is the best Santa in the world.
